Henry, who lives in a bachelor flat, can’t get his whites white and is scoffed at by his ‘lady help’ – until he blows his top, with interesting results. Our introduction to Henry positions him as effete: kind and gentle, a ‘natty dresser’, a ‘little bit of a fusspot’, an art connoisseur and sniffer of roses. His lady help, a scowling Amazon who turns up her nose at the idea of doing his laundry, has a dra
